Of the people owning a standard bike as an adult…

  • 55% indicated that they rode their standard bike daily or weekly before purchasing an eBike
  • After purchasing the eBike, this number rose to 93%

Respondents also indicated:

  • Those who ride bikes for health will find their eBikes allow them to maintain a healthier, more consistent heart rate vs those who over-exert on steep inclines
  • eBikes keep their riders excited and longing for their next ride out
  • Many riders who have not rode in a while do not realize how difficult traditional bicycle riding can be as one gets older. Inclines begin to feel steeper and rides home may seem longer than before.

eBiking Cost Savings

  • The total cost per mile (including cost, purchase price, and the cost of running the vehicle) is less than 5 cents for an eBike versus 71 cents for a car
